Eyelash Lift and Tint in Surrey, BC: Is It Actually Worth It?

The short answer: for most people, yes. If you curl your lashes every morning and they still disappear without mascara, a lash lift will change your daily routine completely.

Here’s what you need to know before booking yours at Forever True Beauty Salon in Surrey.

What Is an Eyelash Lift?

An eyelash lift — sometimes called a lash perm — uses a chemical solution to permanently curve your natural lashes upward from the root. The result looks like you’ve just used an eyelash curler, but it holds that way for 6 to 8 weeks without any effort on your part.

Combined with an eyelash tint (which darkens the lashes to look like a coat of mascara), you get a wide-eyed, defined look that needs almost no maintenance.

How Is It Different from Lash Extensions?

Lash extensions add individual synthetic fibres to your natural lashes, making them longer and fuller. They require refills every 2 to 3 weeks and, done repeatedly, can put stress on your natural lashes.

A lash lift works only with what you already have. No additions, no glue, no adhesive sensitivity. It’s lower maintenance, gentler over time, and better suited for clients who want a natural look or don’t want to commit to ongoing refills.

If you have naturally long lashes that just don’t curl, a lift will probably give you everything you want. If you have very short lashes and want dramatic length, extensions may suit you better.

How Long Do Results Last?

The lift lasts 6 to 8 weeks. The tint tends to fade a little faster — usually 4 to 5 weeks — which is around when most clients rebook anyway.

After your appointment, keep your lashes completely dry for 24 hours. No swimming, no steam rooms, no crying (easier said than done). After that first day, they’re basically weatherproof. You can wear mascara if you want more drama, though most clients find they don’t need it.

What Does the Appointment Feel Like?

You lie back with your eyes closed while small silicone pads are placed on your lids. Your lashes are lifted gently onto the pads and the setting solutions are applied and removed in timed stages. The whole process takes 45 to 60 minutes.

It doesn’t hurt. The solutions have a faint chemical smell, but nothing uncomfortable. The majority of clients fall asleep.

Is It Safe?

Yes, when performed by a trained aesthetician using professional-grade products and correct timing. Over-processing the lashes — leaving the solution on too long — can make them brittle and prone to breakage. That’s why timing and technique matter.

If you have a history of eye sensitivity or allergic reactions to dyes, let us know when you book. We can do a patch test beforehand.
